With the help of the Masoretic vocalisation the Hebrew consonantal text of Isa 53,10 was translated as follows: "And YHWH was pleased with his bruised one (he accepted him) whom he had allowed to become sick. When you make his life an Asham guilt offering he will see his offspring and live long. The Lords plan will succeed through him." The comparison with ancient witnesses to the text has confirmed this interpretation. The investigation of how Isa 52,1353,12 is embedded in the entire book of Isaiah has also shown that this interpretation is meaningful. In this context a positive sense was given to the anonymity of the "Servant" and to the anonymity of the "we" who speak from 53,1. For this anonymity communicates all possible divine revelations after Isaiah through Gods word to Isaiah. YHWHs word lasts for ever and so will outlast all changes of time. Meanwhile the metaphorical comparison of the Servant with an Asham guilt offering (Isa 53,10) serves as a hermeneutical category for the possibility, disclosed by YHWH, of restoring the damaged relationship between God and Israel through insight into the past history of guilt. In conclusion Isa 52,1353,12 was also interpreted as an image for the story or stories of Israel.
Demzufolge müßte die Nominalphrase w#$pn (f) "sein Leben, seine Seele" Subjekt des Satzes sein. Barthélemy und sein Team interpretieren die Phrase w#$pn M#$) My#&t-M) dementsprechend: "si son âme offre un sacrifice dexpiation" 10. Die Verbalphrase M#$) My#& wird dabei im opferkultischen Kontext mit Gen 22,9 verglichen. Dort liest man davon, daß Abraham Isaak auf den Altar gelegt habe (xbzmh-l( wt) M#&yw). Demgegenüber wäre in Jes 53,10 der Opfernde zugleich das Opfer.
Die Verbalform My#&t kann aber auch eine 2.ps.sg repräsentieren. Es wäre dann wie folgt zu übersetzen: "wenn du setzst als (Schuldopfer) Ascham sein Leben, ...". Diesem Verständnis der Verbalform käme G nahe, die die 2.ps im Pl anredet: "wenn ihr entsprechend der Sünde(n) gebt, ...". In beiden Fällen wäre eine zweite Person direkt angesprochen. Wer diese Person, diese Personen sind, wer der Sprecher dieser Aussage ist, bleibt unklar. Zudem ist zu fragen, ob der Personenwechsel der betreffenden Verbalform in den verschiedenen alten Textversionen einen möglichen Anhalt in der Textstruktur von Jes 53,10 und seinem Kontext besitzt. Im Folgenden soll dieser Frage im Hinblick auf Jes 52,1353,12 nachgegangen werden.
III. Die Personen-Entitäten in Jes 52,1353,12
Der Abschnitt Jes 52,1353,12 wird traditionell als 4. Gottesknechtlied bezeichnet 11. In 52,13 kommt der Ausdruck ydb( "mein Knecht" vor (vgl. noch 53,11). Dieser Interpretation zufolge würde das enklitische Personalpronomen =y auf YHWH verweisen, der zugleich als Sprecher dieses Verses zu gelten hätte. Wenn diese Ansicht dem Textverlauf wohl am ehesten gerecht wird, bleibt festzuhalten, daß diese Identifikation von YHWH und dem enklitischen Personalpronomen =y nicht zur expliziten Textaussage der Oberflächengestaltung von Jes 52,13 gehört.
Unterscheidet sich dabei die Sprechersituation in Jes 52,13 von der, die diesem Text unmittelbar vorausgeht? Der Sprecher von 52,12 bleibt anonym, der Inhalt der Rede entspricht jedoch einer göttlichen
