With the help of the Masoretic vocalisation the Hebrew consonantal text of Isa 53,10 was translated as follows: "And YHWH was pleased with his bruised one (he accepted him) whom he had allowed to become sick. When you make his life an Asham guilt offering he will see his offspring and live long. The Lords plan will succeed through him." The comparison with ancient witnesses to the text has confirmed this interpretation. The investigation of how Isa 52,1353,12 is embedded in the entire book of Isaiah has also shown that this interpretation is meaningful. In this context a positive sense was given to the anonymity of the "Servant" and to the anonymity of the "we" who speak from 53,1. For this anonymity communicates all possible divine revelations after Isaiah through Gods word to Isaiah. YHWHs word lasts for ever and so will outlast all changes of time. Meanwhile the metaphorical comparison of the Servant with an Asham guilt offering (Isa 53,10) serves as a hermeneutical category for the possibility, disclosed by YHWH, of restoring the damaged relationship between God and Israel through insight into the past history of guilt. In conclusion Isa 52,1353,12 was also interpreted as an image for the story or stories of Israel.
Horizont wird versucht, die Anonymität bezüglich der Personen in Jes 52,1353,12 aufzuhellen (4). Von daher wird das Verständnis von Jes 53,10 aufgehellt (5). Auch die Nennung des Schuldopfers Ascham wird in diesem Zusammenhang einer Erklärung zugeführt (6). Ist diese geleistet, kann Jes 52,1353,12 noch abschließend als Sinnbild für die Geschichte bzw. die Geschichten "Israels" dargelegt werden (7).
II.Zur Textkritik von Jes 53,10
In der ausführlichen Textkritik zu schwierigen alttestamentlichen Stellen sehen Barthélemy und Mitarbeiter für Jes 53,10 zwei kritische Phrasen. Es handelt sich dabei um (1) ylxh und (2) My#&t 3.
1. Die Interpretation von ylxh als Verbalform Kausativstamm, 3.ps.sg.m und als Relativsatz ohne Relativpronomen
Der Großteil der alten Textzeugen liest für ylxh ein Substantiv. G* weist an der betreffende Stelle die Phrase th=j plhgh=j "Schlag, Wunde" auf, Aq to/ a9rrw/sthma "Schwäche, Krankheit", Sym e9n tw/| traumatismw\| "Verwundung, Verletzung", Vg in infirmitate "Schwäche, Krankheit". Diese Lesung entspräche der Vokalisation des x in ylxh mit hatef qametz. Die Phrase ylxh tritt in alten Textzeugen auch als Verb auf. Zwar ist aus 4Qd ylxh nicht ersichtlich, ob es sich dabei um ein Substantiv oder Verb handelt 4; doch der Textzeuge 1Qa wyh[llhw liest an dieser Stelle eindeutig ein Verb (mit enklitischem Personalpronomen) 5. In letzterem Fall wird man bezüglich der Verbalwurzel wohl eine Assimilation zu Jes 53,5 geltend machen, wo llxm "durchbohrt" bereits vorgekommen ist.
Die MT-Form ylxh kann nach Barthélemy 6 als Kausativstamm 3.ps.sg einer Lamed-he Verbalwurzel angesetzt werden. Die syntaktische Integration dieses finiten Verbs geschieht mittels eines
